Hybrid Man

"Men don’t have hours to waste in the gym. There’s real work to be done, families to lead and empires to be built." - Founders, Blake and Matt

Farmland to Fast Lane

Raised in a farm town where long days were the norm, the twins built a foundation of grit and hard work early on.

Standing at 6'3" and 280 pounds in high school, they became fixtures of Washington High School sports, eventually earning Division 1 athletic scholarships.

After completing their master’s degrees at UW, they spent the next 15 years starting families and building careers—Blake now serves as COO at Curtin Maritime, while Matt owns a CPA firm.

With Sons of Labor, they’re bringing that same work ethic to the world, sharing the lessons, tools, and discipline forged through years of showing up, business leadership, and family life to help others thrive in health, performance, and purpose.

Conditioned for Life

Topping out at 320 pounds post college, the twins wanted a radical shift in fitness and lifestyle. Over the next two decades, they transformed their approach to health, refining the diet, tools, and training methods needed to drop weight, build muscle, boost energy, and stay sharp through life’s challenges.

Today, Blake leans into endurance, competing in marathons and triathlons while preserving muscle mass. With a weight of 215, he’s chasing the elusive sub-3-hour marathon, with a current PR of 3:06. Matt, while still jumping into the occasional Marathon, focuses more on strength and physique, honing the muscle-first side of the equation.

#1 Rule "SHOW UP"

Blake and Matt have one rule (they even wrote a book about it,) and that rule is to show up- the rest will fall into place.

Whether it’s stepping into the gym, lacing up for a 5 AM run, or tackling a new challenge, showing up is the hardest but easiest step of the day. It’s the mornings singular moment of initiation, the mental commitment that separates your goal from reality.

Showing up is about more than fitness, it’s a mindset, a rallying cry for anyone striving to achieve something greater than what's in front of them. No matter where you are in life, the key to monumental success is simply taking that first step and keeping things simple.

Every great achievement starts with showing up. It’s the daily discipline, the quiet perseverance, the unwavering belief that small steps lead to massive transformation.
